
Programming event for teenagers
February 28th - March 1st
This spring we invite you and your friends to join us for Aurora, a teenage hackathon in Springfield, Missouri. Over the course of two days, you'll learn something new, make something you're really proud of, meet new friends, and go on an incredible adventure together. Everything is completely free, including food and merch!

What Will You Make?
Take a look at the below sample projects made by teenagers like you!

A simple to use finance tracker website. FinTrack was made with Python's Flask framework and uses API calls to connect to an external database!

A fun rhythm game where you help squirrels catch acorns while they're rocking out! Funky Forest was made with Python's Pygame.

A two-player platformer made in Godot. This game won first place at our last hackathon: Daydream Missouri!

FAQ
Who can participate?
All high-school & upper-middle-school aged students are welcome! You must be at least 13 and no more than 18 years old.
What can I make at Aurora?
ANY coding or technical projects! Games, websites, apps, hardwares, whatever you can think of!
All this, for free?
Yep! Food, swag, and good vibes are all included.
What do I need to bring?
Your laptop, chargers, and an open mind! School-issued Chromebooks are not recommended.
I'm not good at coding. Can I still participate?
This hackathon is for all skill levels! We will have workshops and mentors to guide beginners.
Can I participate online?
Yes! You can choose to join us through Zoom and Discord and submit your project online. Please note, online participants will miss out on workshops and activities.
What is Hack Club?
The world's largest teenage coding community in the US. We host many events like this one to provide free tech education to all.
